Camden Academy AP Environmental science students visited Corson's Inlet w/Center for Aquatic Sciences to learn about tidal species and the importance of barrier islands. They used a refractometer to test the water salinity (it was ~35 parts per thousand). They tasted sea lettuce and learned about different types of sea plants, barnacles, fish, and crabs. The photos show fish, crab, and shrimp specimens they found including two puffer fish. For many students, this was the first time they saw these specimens. All items found, were returned to the ocean unharmed. #STEAM
