ALLIED RESOURCES FOR KIDS (ARK)

The primary mission of Allied Resources for Kids is to involve Camden students from grades Pre-K-12 in academic enrichment and extracurricular activities before school, after school, on the weekends, and during the summer increasing the amount of adult supervision each child receives, increasing and enabling students to develop reinforcing peer relationships.

Through these efforts, A.R.K. will develop a network of partners from the following sectors: secondary education, higher education, healthcare, grassroots organizations, and private industry to provide comprehensive quality programming for Camden’s youth.

Some of the programs that students have participated in include:

  • Kayaking - youth learn the basic strokes and paddle along local waterways including the Cooper River, Delaware River and Newton Creek.

  • Swimming - youth learn water safety and swimming.

  • STEAM - youth participate in hands on STEAM projects to develop critical thinking skills. 

  • Biking - youth learn to ride bikes, bike safety and road safety rules.

  • Experiential Learning - youth are encouraged to try activities that they may not have had the opportunity to participate in.

  • Workforce development - youth learn job ready behaviors and expectations to help them succeed in the workforce.

  • Food Pantry -provide food to local families.
